PAU intended to set up a new Data Centre to enhance its function in managing petroleum data in line with the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act 2013.

Introduction:
The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is a Government Agency and a statutory body with a mandate to monitor and regulate the exploration, development, and production, together with the refining, gas conversion, transportation, and storage of petroleum in Uganda. This includes ensuring that petroleum operations in Uganda are carried out in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines in line with international best practices for the petroleum industry.
The Solution:
Mantra Technologies was awarded this contract by being considered the best-evaluated bidder scoring the highest marks, and meeting both technical and commercial requirements, through an Open Public Tender Bidding process. Mantra delivered and completed a successful working Data Centre for PAU, which comprised of all the stages of delivery from Design, Build, Supply, Install & Implement, Configure, Integrate & Migrate, Test & Train, Go-Live & Handover an operational Data Centre. The Bill of materials included Hyperconverged Compute Servers & Storage appliances, Networking, Cybersecurity, UPS, Precision Cooling, Generator Backup, Migration for existing Hardware, Softwares & Specialized Applications from the old server room to the new modern Data Centre.
Conclusion:
PAU is proud to have secured itself a functional Data Centre with all the Petroleum Software Applications and data migrated into the new high-performance, scalable, Hyperconverged & Virtualized Computing environment.
