Project Synopsis

Deliver a modern ICT Infrastructure for the 24-Floor Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) headquarters Building in Nakawa, making URA possibly the first Government/Public Sector Smart Green Building in the county, which will help URA to reduce energy costs, increase the productivity of the facility staff, improve building operations, support sustainability efforts and enhance decision-making across the organization. 

The key deliverables of this project were to design, supply, install & commission the following components:

Deployment of an Integrated Building Management System (IBMS) complete with all accessories such as 42U Rack in main server room, switches and patch panels, Robust server (duplicated), and all required accessories to deliver a functioning IBMS and supplied with:

ICT Works for the Uganda Revenue Authority Head Quarter Building “URA Towers” Subcontracted to Mantra by Seyani Brothers & Co (U) Ltd. (Main Contractor)

  • Software containing Building Management & Control Software Programs with Dynamic Graphics interfaces. Software shall be able to communicate with Lonworks, BACnet, Modbus devices simultaneously, with unlimited point capacity.
  • Energy Manager application for 100 Power Meters. This application should help URA to understand the facility's energy consumption and demand peaks. Better manage consumption patterns,  reduce costs by optimizing demand side management, better negotiate lower energy rates with your supplier, manage and control carbon emissions and identify cost-saving opportunities &  Validate energy conservation projects.
  • The energy manager featured - BACNET / Modbus Devices, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,  MECHANICAL   SYSTEM, VENTILATION AND AC, IBMS VOICE DATA SECURITY, Controllers & Enclosures.
  • Intelligent Smart Lighting System: supplied with an embedded controller/web-page server for remote monitoring and control of Ex-Or Digital Managed Lighting Systems, (MLS).
  • Public Address & Evacuation System supplied with a Rack, Power Amplifier, MICs, Loudspeakers, DVD Player, DOMs etc. and to also include
  • Integrated Security Management Systems, supplied with Access Control, RFID Card, CCTV Cameras, Boom Barriers (Physical Entry Control) and other security devices.
  • An ISM Software to seamlessly combine full scale security integration with access control, digital video, and security.
  • A Video Analytical Manager application to control multiple sources of video subsystems in a facility to collect, manage and present video in a clear and concise manner.
  • Intelligent Fire Alarm System: supplied with Control Panel with 2 Loops and supports up to 640 intelligent addressable devices.
  • IPTV & Digital Signage Systems: To provide a complete and fully functional distributed television system using Internet Protocol. The IPTV system shall be networked and allow for development and implementation of customized content.
  • DATA ROOM to be supplied with: Racks, CAT7a Ethernet(10G) Cabling, Fiber Backbone (40G) Cabling, Anti Static Flooring.
